Making Durable Links to Articles in Library Databases from ANGEL

Do you want to include a persistent link to a journal article in a library subscription database from your ANGEL course site? It's easy to do if you follow the instructions in MCC Libraries Making Durable Links to Articles in Library Databases from ANGEL guide.

The terms "durable link" or "persistent link" describe a web link that remains stable over time, and ensures that articles from library databases can be accessed by students from both on and off-campus locations. License agreements with many library database vendors allow creation of links to full-text articles or electronic books from your ANGEL course site.

Some benefits of creating durable links include:

  • The ability to distribute supplemental and last minute course readings online.
  • The ability to link to an online reference book to assist students' with course
        assignments.
  • The ability to link to an online article to enhance the discussion of course topics.

For more information, contact Pam Czaja, Reference/Distance Learning Librarian at (585) 292-2308, or by e-mail pczaja@monroecc.edu.
