Locating Articles in OmniFile
OmniFile Full Text Select is a 100% full-text
database with more than 1,600
publications covering subjects such as art,
biology, business, criminal justice, education, general science,
humanities, law and the social sciences from 1994 to the present.

Accessing MCC Libraries Databases |
1. Go to
http://www.monroecc.edu/go/library. |
2. Click "Find articles and online
databases". |
3. If off-campus, click “EZProxy” and follow directions to log-in. |
4. Scroll down to find OmniFile
Full-Text Select and click it to go to the search
screen. |
Basic Search:
Type your keyword(s) into the Find box and click
Start.

Results:

- Results are in order by date, newest to
oldest. You may change the display order using the "Sort by:" menu
box.
- To the left of the screen is the "New
Search By Subject" box. Refine your
search results by clicking directly
on one of these subjects. - Click on
"Full Text HTML", or
"Full Text PDF" to see the entire article.
- Articles may be printed, emailed or saved to a storage device.
- Citations may be created and emailed or printed in MLA or APA style format
to include in your bibliography or works cited list.
Tips for Successful Searching:
- Check your spelling if you are not receiving
any results.
- Use the "search within results" box to add more keywords and refine
your search.
- Try "Advanced Search" and
narrow by subject area, publication type, publication date and document
type.
- The "Thesaurus" provides suggested
subject headings and related terms that can be helpful if you are having
difficulty thinking of search words to use.
