Library Research Tips for
Students

- Beginning Your Information Research at MCC
Libraries - Come to the Information Desk at the Leroy V. Library (Brighton
Campus) or the Reference Desk at the Damon City Campus Library.
Reference Librarians are available to answer your questions about what
information resources and services the MCC Libraries have to help you with
your assignments.
- Getting Additional Help
With
Your Research - For in-depth assistance with your library
research, consider scheduling an appointment to meet with one of our
Librarians. Use the Individual Research Consultation Online Form
to schedule a session.
- Library
Glossary - Need help learning library language? Visit our Library
Glossary to look-up commonly used library terms and their definitions.
- To Find Books - Search
the MCC Library Catalog to
locate books held at the Brighton and Damon
City Campus Libraries.
- To Find Articles -
Looking for articles on a certain topic? Visit our Find Articles &
Other Information Web page to search for information on your topic in
journals, magazines, and newspapers. The Access from
Home section also contains instructions for signing on to our article databases
from your home computer.
- Interlibrary Loan -
Sometimes the MCC Libraries do not own a copy of the book or article you
are looking for. When this occurs, you can submit a request to our
Interlibrary Loan (ILL) service to see if we can obtain the item you need
from another library. To learn more about this service go to
our Interlibrary Loan Policies section. To access online request forms for
books, journal and magazine articles, go to our Online Interlibrary Loan
Request Page.
