Paul
Emerick, Biology Department
Paul has been a full-time faculty member since Fall
2004. Previous teaching experience includes: Anatomy and Physiology
at Chemeketa Community College (Spring 2000), Salem Oregon; Anatomy
and Physiology, Advanced Exercise Physiology Lab, and Cardiovascular
and Respiratory Physiology Lab (Fall 94 - Spring 2000) Oregon State
University, Corvallis Oregon. Graduate study focused especially
on skeletal muscle and cardiovascular physiology.
Paul
has a MA in Education w/ Exercise Science Concentration from The
George Washington University (Spring 1994) and a BS in Physical
Education w/ Exercise Science Option from The University of New
Hampshire (Spring 1988). Paul's personal interests include outdoor
activities and playing with his dogs.
Anne
Flatley MS, ATC, CSCS
Anne Flatley is a native of Rochester NY. She received
her B.A. in Applied Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Child
Abuse counseling from Alfred University and her M.S. in Education
with an emphasis in Athletic Training from Old Dominion University.
Anne is a Certified Athletic Trainer through the National Athletic
Trainers Association as well as a Certified Strength and Conditioning
Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
Anne
has been full-time faculty at MCC for 5 years. Prior to coming to
MCC she worked in outpatient Sports Physical Therapy for 16 years.
She has had experience working with many athletes ranging in abilities
(Special Olympics to Olympic levels). In her free time, she is an
avid open water kayaker and teaches kayaking for BayCreek Paddling
Center.
Deneen
Rhode, MFA, MA, LMT
Deneen Rhode holds a master’s degree
from the University of Utah in movement pedagogy and a master’s
degree in somatic studies from SUNY Brockport. A licensed massage
therapist, Rhode’s professional experience includes private
practice, Highland Hospital’s Center for Women, SUNY Brockport’s
Student Health Center and the Onondaga School of Massage in Rochester,
N.Y. Her list of corporate references include Xerox, Preferred Care,
and Ortho-Clinical Diagnostics of Rochester, a division of Johnson
& Johnson.
Matthew Wolanski, LMT.
Matthew acquired an AAS in Travel and Tourism from Finger Lakes Community College which launched a career with American Airlines. After seeing the world, he returned to Rochester to pursue his first passion, teaching. He attended SUNY Brockport receiving a degree in Literature and quickly found himself in Massage School at Onondaga School of Therapeutic Massage. He has a small practice which focuses mainly on Shiatsu and Medical Treatment Massage. He is on the staff at Onondaga for Swedish and Shiatsu. Matthew is also a Marathon runner and works closely with the Rochester running community.
Mary Ellen Hill, Clinic Facilitator
Mary Ellen Hill is a NYS Licensed Massage Therapist and a 2004 graduate of MCC Massage Therapy Program. Upon graduation she opened Integrative Healing Arts Center in the Rochester's East End where she practices massage therapy and other healing modalities. In addition, Mary Ellen is a certified personal trainer, Pilates and Yoga instructor at the Southeast YMCA.
Note: Electives as part of the Massage Therapy Degree program are taught
by various MCC faculty.
