Hello and welcome to MCC's Department of Nursing Web page. The Nursing Department at MCC has provided a high quality and effective education to students for over 40 years. Our graduates express high levels of satisfaction with the program and employers express high levels of satisfaction with our graduates. Our graduates pass the National Council's Licensing Examination for RNs (NCLEX-RN) at rates exceeding both state and national averages.

The Department of Nursing requires students to receive the seasonal flu immunization each fall in order to participate in clinical in the spring semesters.

Effective Fall 2010: Students entering the Nursing Program will need to meet a General Education requirement for Math. A Math course, at the MTH 104 or higher level, must be successfully completed before the student takes NUR 112 (the 2nd clinical course). Several MTH courses require pre-requisites or placement at an established level on the Accuplacer test.

Suggested Courses:
MTH 104, MTH 150, MTH 151, MTH 160 (required for baccalaureate degree), or MTH 165.

Students entering in Fall 2010 will also need to choose one 3 credit elective from the list of courses that meet the Humanities General Education requirement.
