Introduction: |
| Welcome to the ETS Technology Training Program! It is
our goal that through the many technology training opportunities offered
below, you will be able to keep pace with ever changing technology, reduce
frustration and become more productive in your work.
The ETS Technology Training Program offers many
different development activities designed to provide opportunities for
professional growth to every employee of the college community. Offerings
fall into the following categories:
|
|
General Information:
|
- Each Training Track includes “levels”, which are
necessary to master the skills in the track, and “specializations” which
offer advanced training in a particular facet of the application.
- Each session description includes a section
titled After this session you will be able to: that lists
specific measurable objectives and a section titled Apply your
skills: that lists tasks you will be able perform upon completion of
the session.
- The learner choose the tracks that lead to
desired skill sets.
- Prerequisites are clearly indicated, so the learner
will not duplicate skills already mastered or take sessions for which
they are under-prepared.
|
|
Registration:
|
To register for any of the
sessions in this schedule, you have several options. Be sure to check the
prerequisites to assure a course is right for you.

to include your name, department and extension number along with the
session number, date and time of the session(s) you are interested in.

register by phone, call the ETS Help Line, extension 4357 (292-2000 then
extension 4357 if off-campus) and follow the voice prompts.
If a class does not have a minimum of three registered
students, it may be canceled. If you are interested in a session not on
the schedule, please contact Marie Gibson, extension 3436, to arrange a
customized session.
Class sizes are limited to seven students, so call and
reserve your seat!

|
Training Schedule:
|
| The current
session schedule is available on the “Technical
Training Catalog” web page. From the on-line schedule, you will be
able to register for the specific course and session that you wish. If you
prefer a paper copy of the current training schedule in booklet format,
please contact the Help Desk at extension 4357 (option 1). Updated
schedules are issued in September, February and June.
|
|
Cancellation Policy:
|
| Cancellation should be made no
later than two days prior to the scheduled date for all skill building
sessions. The courtesy of a cancellation is requested so other members of
the College Community may fill the open seat.
|
|
Customized Training:
|
| If you have a number of people
(4 or more) that would like to take a track or a single session, our
preferred method is to design a custom session that will best suit your
needs. See
Track C: Customized Training for details.
