Accredited Aircraft Fire Training Now Available!line


The Northeast Fire Training Center at Monroe Community College announces the following available training dates for Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting. The courses offered will result in the award of college-level academic credit.

bulletFPT-135   Aircraft Fuel Spill Fire Fighting

This is an eight-hour course designed to provide firefighters with the knowledge and skills associated with large fuel spill fires. It will encompass both classroom and live-fire training scenarios utilizing our 2 crash rescue vehicles and our fuel spill trainer. This course exceeds FAR Part 139 annual requirements for Index A through E under live fire training requirements.

Price: $499.75* per person. New York State residents can reduce this cost by $58.50 by providing Certificate of Residence forms prior to the start of class.

bulletFPT-136 Specialized Aircraft Fire Fighting

This eight-hour class provides firefighters with the skills and knowledge associated with specialized aircraft fires. These fires could include cockpit, galley, passenger cabin, lavatory, baggage compartment, wheel and brake, engine and local spill type fires. This course utilizes both classroom and live fire training scenarios, and also exceeds FAR Part 139 annual requirements for live fire training.

Price: $324.75* per person. New York State residents can reduce this cost by $58.50 by providing Certificate of Residence forms prior to the start of class.

bulletFPT-130   Basic Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting

This forty hour specialized aircraft fire fighting course is designed to provide aircraft firefighters the basic level of skills and knowledge required to handle fires on board aircraft, aircraft crash incidents and hazardous materials. Both hands-on use of the aircraft fire training simulators and classroom presentations will be provided to the students.

The classroom presentation will provide familiarization of tools and apparatus, airport infrastructures, chemistry of fire, foam systems, Incident Management System (IMS), aircraft familiarization and tactical considerations in fire suppression operations.

The hands-on application will consist of conducting advanced rescue techniques, application of fire fighting foams, apparatus operation, use of fire fighting tools and appliances, and fire suppression operations in an aviation environment.

Price: $834.75* per person. New York State residents can reduce this cost by $292.50 by providing Certificate of Residence forms prior to the start of class.

May 12 through May 16

bulletFPT-230  Advanced Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting

This class is designed to enhance the skills of the basic ARFF Firefighter and make you become the highest trained aircraft firefighters the industry can provide. This will put you above the minimum requirements and provide you multi-faceted skills required to meet today’s aviation demands. An extensive use of the aircraft fire training simulators and classroom presentations will provide you the tools necessary to make you a highly skilled firefighter.

The classroom presentation will provide familiarization of rescue systems and equipment, tools and apparatus, airport facilities, chemistry of fire, foam systems, Incident Management System (IMS), and strategies and tactical considerations in fire suppression operations.

The hands-on sessions will consist of conducting advanced rescue techniques and extrication of trapped victims, firefighting foams and mass application, motor vehicle fires, structural fires suppression operations, water rescue and advanced aircraft fire suppression. This is a 40-hour class.

Price: $837.25* per person. New York State residents can reduce this cost by $292.50 by providing Certificate of Residence forms prior to the start of class.
