EMS System Medical Director
Eric A. Davis, MD, F.A.C.E.P.

Dr. Davis joined the MCC Paramedic Program as Medical Director in 1995. He did his undergraduate training at Kent State University in Ohio and his graduate and postgraduate studies at Ohio State University. He is currently the Monroe-Livingston region EMS Medical Director and an Associate Professor at the University of Rochester Medical Center. He is a member of the Monroe-Livingston EMS Council, the Regional Emergency Medical Advisory Committee, and is a fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP). He was previously the Medical Director of STAT MedEvac Aeromedical Transport in Pittsburgh, Pa. Dr. Davis is also a board member of the New York Chapter of ACEP and of the Air Medical Physicians Association (AMPA). He is actively involved in pre-hospital research including studies involving 12 lead ECG technology, field surgical airways and the use of epinephrine in cardiac arrest.

Craig Weise, RN, CEN, EMT-P

Mr. Weise has been certified as a NYS EMT since its inception in 1967. He was certified as a NYS Paramedic in 1992. He has 35 years of rural, suburban and urban EMS experience, volunteering for the Hartfield Vol. Fire Company's Rescue Squad, Jamestown Ambulance, Perinton Ambulance Corp., Gates Ambulance and Henrietta Ambulance. He is currently serving with Southeast Quadrant ALS. Craig was licensed as a Registered Nurse in 1972, and served as the Nurse-Coordinator for STEP and American Heart Association, where he developed and implemented the ALS system in Monroe County. He developed the original curriculum for ALS training that was eventually adopted by the state. Craig coordinated and taught ALS training courses until the late 1980s. In 1975 he changed his nursing career from critical care to emergency nursing, and in 1980 became one of the first nurses in the country to become board certified in emergency nursing. Craig has been active in teaching EMS, BCLS and ACLS.

Craig became the MCC Clinical Coordinator for the Paramedic Program in 1993. He has developed a comprehensive clinical rotation program which he has up-dated based on the new 1998 EMT-Paramedic curriculum.
