Dear Peter,
I just wanted to drop you a note to say hello and thanks for everything that you have done for me. I am finally setteled her in Philadelphia, PA. As you know I am working for the American Heart Association, as a Community Programs Director.
I am working on two major projects here, the first is Operation Heartbeat. Operation Heartbeat is a program designed to educate the public in heart attack and cardiac arrest issues. We are currently running a major gifts campaign to place AED's in public places and community organizations. The second program is CPR in schools. It is a new initiative of the AHA to get CPR training into every high school educational curriculum. Both projects are very exciting and have a lot of potential for success.
I would also like to thank you for the excellent paramedic education that I received through your program! Recently I was hired by Jefferson Health Systems as a part time paramedic, based out of Bryn Mawr Hospital, Medic 109. It is a fly car only program, that is regarded much like the Medic 37 program in Rochester. They usually do not let paramedics go directly to the 911 service without first working for the ambulance side, but because of my education and previous experience I was allowed to go directly to 911 service.
I hope that your are doing well, and that if you or anyone a MCC ever needs anything from the AHA, please do not hesitate to contact me. Also, please feel free to include this letter on your "Where are they now?" website.
Sincerely,
Mark A. Walker, BA, EMT-P
Community Programs Director
