MCC Paramedic Students Learn about FiO2FiO2 stands for
Fraction of inspired oxygen. Although EMTs are familiar with oxygen levels as a
percentage, the hospital and Paramedics usually describe the oxygen
concentration in a different way. We use FiO2 values. The conversion from
percent to FiO2 is quite simple though. Take the percent number and move the
decimal point two places to the left. Thats it!!! You now have the FiO2 value
Examples:
21% is an FiO2 of 0.21
50% is an FiO2 of 0.5
100% is an FiO2 of 1
