| Rush
Range is owned by Monroe Community College, and is located in
the town of Rush, NY. The facility encompasses two distinct
areas. The lower range consists of an outdoor range with ten
firing positions at a length of 200 yards, a small classroom
with storage space and telephone. The upper range consists of
a lodge, which is used as a large classroom, complete with TV,
phone, and restrooms.
Managed by the Public Safety Training Center, the range is
used as a firearms training facility by Monroe County Police
agencies and by the Training Center for security guard and recruit
officer training.
Rush
Range is governed by a set of protocols. A Range Control Officer
is on the premises during all firing sessions.
Pictured here is the new backstop/bullet trap that was installed
after the former earthen backstop was cleaned of lead. A new
"wire system" targeting arrangement and a portable moving target
are planned.
