Missing Persons
The Public Safety Department has uniform
guidelines for the handling of missing persons in conjunction
with the Brighton Police Department. These procedures reference
the NYS Division of Criminal Justice Services document, Missing
College Student Cases- An Investigative Guide.
Violent Felony Offenses
If an incident of this nature should occur,
the Public Safety Department will secure the scene, take first
responder actions and report it immediately to the Brighton
Police Department for a thorough and prompt investigation.
The New York State Campus Safety Act of 1999 requires
that colleges have procedures in place for the investigation of
Missing Persons and Violent Felony Offenses.
