Auditing a Class

When you audit a course, you are taking the course without credit and without a grade. You do not have to take the examinations. Any student may audit a course with permission of the instructor. Forms are available in the Registration and Records office, located in Building 6, Room 203.

The deadlines for completing and turning in the Audit form are as follows:

  • Fall & Spring - by the end of the first week of classes
  • Summer - within 2 days of the start of the term
  • Intersession - the first day of classes

Full tuition is required, and the course will appear on your transcript with a grade of AU. You may not change a credit registration to audit.

Senior Citizen Auditing

Residents age 60 years and older may audit MCC classes without incurring tuition cost. Senior auditors are responsible for fees associated with the class (i.e. technology fee, records fee, lab fee, etc.). These fees can not be waived.

Auditing a class means that the instructor will not assign you a grade. Senior Citizens who want to get a grade in the class may register through our normal registration process. This will produce a bill and will need to be paid in full.

Audit registrations are on a space-available basis.

Senior auditors can register for Spring 2015 classes starting Wednedsay January 14 from 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM at the Registration and Records office, 6-203. After this time, senior auditors can register during normal college business hours (8 AM - 4:45 PM).

Parking for this event is available in the Visitor Lot (Lot V) near the main entrance of the college.
