The beds in the Alice Holloway Young Commons are offered based on the date and time you apply for housing therefore it is important to review the process and apply on the recommended dates. The application and payment are required in order to be considered for housing.

Application Process for Current Residents 2011-2012

  1. February 1-12, 2011 Shareable IDs will be e-mailed to all students, including new applicants. The Shareable ID can be shared with current residents and new applicants with whom a student would like to live.  The request to live with another student must be mutual. Additionally, the shareable ID number must be accurate when entered into the housing application. Students can verify the information they entered is accurate by refreshing their web browser after they input each shareable ID.  When refreshed, the shareable ID will become the name associated with the ID. The Housing and Residence Life Office will not release the Shareable ID of another student.
  2. February 11th through March 4th, 2011 Housing application available online for current residents only. Click here
    • A $200 housing application deposit is required in order for a student to be considered for housing after a housing application is submitted
    • Payment can be made in one of the following ways:

Please make checks/money orders payable to the MCC Association, Inc. Include the student name and M00# on all submitted payments.

Applications will not be processed until payment has been received and must be received by 5pm on March 4, 2011 to be guaranteed housing for the 2011-2012 academic year.  Deferrals are not available.

*Current residents may request a refund of the $200 application fee and cancel their housing agreement for the 2011-2012 academic year until June 1, 2011 without penalty. Cancellations made after this date will result in the application fee being forfeited.

  1. March 4, 2011 at 5pm Housing application will no longer be available. If a current resident misses the deadline, the resident will need to apply for housing with the general population beginning March 14, 2011 at 8am and is no longer guaranteed housing for the 2011-2012 academic year. Current residents will need to follow the process for new applicants.

Housing Costs for 2011-2012

Single Room:
$3,300.00 per semester or $6,600.00 for the academic year

Double Room:
$2,900.00 per semester or $5,800.00 for the academic year

Intersession
Single Room: $500.00
Double Room: $450.00

Summer Session I
Single Room:
$550.00
(Dependent on course duration)

Beds will be offered for the Alice Holloway Young Commons based on the date and time a student submits a housing application with complete information and payment.

*Current residents who submit a housing application and $200 application fee by March 4, 2011 at 5pm will be notified regarding their housing status beginning on April 15, 2011.

  1. March 14, 2011 Target date to apply for Financial Aid to ensure aid is in place for the academic year.
  2. March 14, 2011 the housing application will be available for general population/new applicants beginning at 8am.
  3. June 1, 2011 class registration deadline for current residents to maintain priority status.

The housing agreement will be binding for the academic year.  Students requesting to terminate the contractual obligation MUST notify the Housing office by 12/1/11.  Failure to notify the Housing office will result in forfeiture of the security deposit and the student may incur housing charges for the spring semester.

NelNet Payment Plan for Housing

Fall Semester: 50% due July 15 and 50% due August 15

Spring Semester: 50% due December 15 and 50% due January 15
