EDU 100 - Introduction to the Teaching Profession
Service Project (EDU 100- 002, CC4, CC5):
Students will be working in teams to complete a mini literacy kit for area childcare center. The project focuses on literacy needs in Monroe and surrounding counties. (5 hours-Option) S-09
EDU 200 - Foundations of Education
Service Project (EDU 200-CC1, CC2, CC3, CC4, CC5, CC6):
Students in this course have two (2) choices for their service- learning project: tutoring OR developing literacy kits. TUTORING: Students may choose to tutor at any of the approved tutoring sites. The list of sites will be given out at the beginning of the semester. Students will work one-on-one or in groups each week. A variety of age groups and subject matters are available. LITERACY KITS: Students may develop literacy kits for use in various childcare centers in the Rochester area. Ages for the kits will be available at the beginning of the semester. (20 hours) S-09

EDU 208 - Guided Observation in Education
Service Project (EDU 208-CC1, CC2, CC4, CC5, CC6):
Students will participate in classroom activities for 20 hours addressing educational needs such as: lesson planning, working with small groups, one on one support, correcting papers, and responding to school led initiatives. 40 hours of observation is also included in this course. (20 hours) S-09
