Service Project (TRS 101-004, 007):
Students will create a study guide for Gary Soto’s book The Afterlife, which will be required reading. Students will summarize each chapter, compile a list of vocabulary words and definitions, create study questions and answers that reflect the various levels of Bloom’s Taxonomy, and outline reading strategies relevant to the book. Because The Afterlife is required reading in other TRS 101 sections, the study guide will be useful to the Transitional Studies Department as both a resource for students and as a qualitative guide to students’ interaction with and understanding of the text.
