What Is It

The TRiO Student Support Services (SSS) program is a federally-funded academic support program for low-income, first-generation students, and students with disabilities. The program offers a comprehensive set of services to improve academic achievement, retention, graduation and transfer to four-year institutions. The program is staffed by highly qualified advisors, academic coaches, and tutors who are committed to helping students with a variety of needs. TRiO SSS serves 300 students annually with at least 200 being first-generation and low income.

Participation in the TRiO SSS program will increase the likelihood of on-time graduation, transfer, and/or employment. Students will have the opportunity to engage in relevant workshops, networking events, and career exploration. All participants will receive assistance with the FAFSA, and information regarding financial literacy and scholarships. Students work directly with assigned SSS advisors to ensure continuity across semesters.
