How do I start a club?
Make an appointment with the Assistant Director of the Campus Center and
discuss the new club idea. You will receive assistance in developing a
constitution for your club, and be directed to the Student Government Association
(Bldg. 3, Room 127) for further assistance.
How do I get involved with a club or organization?
The best way to get involved is to attend Welcome Back Week held the 2nd or 3rd week of each new semester. At this event active clubs and organization host information tables and solicit new members. Additionally, most clubs and organizations have a website to provide interested students with a contact number for each group. You may also leave a note in the club mailboxes located in the Photo ID/E-Mail Office (Bldg. 3, Room 139A). If you
don't hear from the club, stop by the Campus Center to let us know so
we can help you. After the first month of each semester, club meeting times are posted in the Campus Center Office, and you may attend a meeting to see if a particular club or organization interests you!
Do I have to attend a New Student Orientation?
New student orientations are held during the summer and throughout the month of January prior to the fall and spring semesters. Orientations consist of an entire day of programming, including a packet of information, special presentations, a tour of the facilities, lunch and/or dinner, and obtaining your photo ID. Attending an orientation is the only means of obtaining your photo ID prior to the start of school, which can be helpful when purchasing textbooks, etc. Attending an Orientation also provides valuable information that would take you months to learn on your own, and provides a solid basis for a successful start to the new year. Attenting a new student orientation is not manadatory but is highly recommended for every student.
