I chose to become involved in this program to exercise my newly-acquired knowledge of political processes and international relations in accordance with my eagerness to experience new things. I hope to gain a more thorough understanding of the inner-workings of the UN by participating in this process, as well as to gain new outlooks on how international affairs are perceived by different regions of the world.

I became involved in the Model UN for an opportunity to expand my research and teambuilding skills, knowledge of the United Nations, and for a chance to meet people from around the world.

I hope to become a better researcher, public speaker and to increase my critical thinking skills.

I became involved in the Model UN Program because I am interested in world affairs and relationships between nations on matters of war and peace, and Human Rights. I hope to gain a better understanding of the function of the UN in resolving conflicts between nations, a true appreciation for Uruguay, the country I am assigned to represent, and improved public speaking and research skills. I believe I can contribute to this program because I am a natural mediator.

I thought it would be fun to do a UN simulation that would involve many other schools and many different personalities. I hope to get a better understanding of personal interactions in a professional environment and to improve my communications skills. I can do well under pressure and I feel that I have good analysis skills that I can use to help our team understand Uruguay’s point of view.

I have always had an interest in international affairs, different cultures, and the United Nations. I truly believe in the United Nations and what it offers: a stage where people all over the world can discuss openly, try to solve issues internationally, and safeguard human rights. To me every human has a story and I love learning about people and their stories.

I chose to become involved because ever since I was in 9th grade I have been watching BBC world on a regular basis. From there I learned a great deal about the world today and became more and more fascinated with it. I have an aptitude for languages (mainly French and more recently, Spanish). I participated in the Model UN conference once in high school, twice in my last school, Wheaton College in Massachusetts at the Harvard Conference, and loved it both times.

I chose to participate in this program to have the opportunity to learn how to effectively make a difference in our world through vital outlets such as the United Nations. Learning the craft of mediation and compromise is something that can only be perfected through practice, yet it can be useful in all aspects of life.

I have always had an interest in the workings of the UN and I believe it is an important organization to learn about and understand. My hope is to learn as much as possible about the UN and be able to explain the UN to others in a positive light. I love politics and learning about American History.

I have been involved in this program since the seventh grade. I have learned that the best way to learn about another culture is to become submerged in it, become one of them. That is what we do in Model UN. We take a look at other cultures and learn like a person who has lived it instead of just reading about it and memorizing it.

I choose to participate in the Model UN program because I felt that it would be a challenging, rewarding, and fun experience. I hope to learn more about global issues, how to successfully resolve conflict on an individual and international scale, and how to become more comfortable with public speaking.

I chose to participate in the Model UN program to broaden my knowledge of international affairs. Additionally, I knew that this would help me with the international aspect of my major and possible future in the global economy. Through the process, I hope to learn better public speaking and team-decision making.

I participated in the Model UN Program because I knew that it would be a new and challenging experience for me. I thrive on challenges, because it keeps me sharp and focused. Through this process, I hope to learn about the intrinsic and extrinsic aspects of the United Nations. I also hope to gain pertinent leadership skills necessary to succeed in our ever-evolving, globalized world.

I chose to participate in the Model UN because being in the Marine Corps I saw places in the world where people resort to violence as a solution to conflict and I wanted to see a different aspect to political and social conflicts. I expect that the United Nations will teach me about diplomacy and cooperation on a large scale and it will give me a chance to see how conflict can be solved in other manners.
