Off-Campus Resources for Low or No Cost Primary Health Care
Primary Health Care is a key component to the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention
of acute and chronic illnesses. This ‘medical home’ is the central point in
the coordination of your health care. Primary Care practitioners are seen for the diagnosis
and treatment of acute illnesses, like strep throat or the flu, and for on-going management
of chronic conditions such as diabetes, ADHD, and chronic back pain. Primary care is generally
provided by physicians, but is increasingly provided by a team of personnel that includes nurse
practitioners and physician assistants.
