Golf Management Course Listings

This course is designed to provide the student with an understanding of the golf industry. It also provides the student with an understanding of the etiquette, definitions and rules that govern the game of golf.

Course Learning Outcomes
1. Explain the origin of the game
2. Trace the history of golf from its infancy to contemporary times
3. Identify job opportunities within the industry of golf
4. Provide job descriptions for many of the golf occupations
5. Translate the rules of golf
6. Interpret the rules in a golf match

This course is designed to provide the student with a comprehensive understanding of the rules of golf. The course will include instruction in the history of the rules, governing bodies, definitions, etiquette, and interpretation of the rules of golf. The student will learn how to identify the rule that applies to each situation, and how to interpret and apply the rule.

1. Explain the history of the original rules of the game
2. Outline the rules that govern the game
3. Classify the sections in the rule book that apply to match situations
4. Rephrase and interpret the appropriate rules that apply
5. Communicate the particular rules decisions that relate to the players' situations
