Description: |  | This course is for students not matriculated in Interior Design. It covers the decoration and design of residential interiors. Through analysis of historical precedents students will learn to assess existing conditions and consider alternative approaches to design which are based on aesthetic, functional, and cultural considerations. Attention will be given to historical and contemporary style, the basic principles of design, the practical use of space, and the selection and application of materials. This course fulfills the requirements for a Humanities elective. Three class hours. |
