The Visual and Performing Arts Department offers a wide variety of programs that allows students to pursue their passions in the arts, design, or communication and media studies. Visual and Performing Arts (VaPA ) is one of the largest academic departments at Monroe Community College as it offers the greatest number of degree programs.

Many of our faculty members are nationally recognized artists, performers, and scholars. Our well-known Mercer Gallery provides opportunities for students to learn hands-on about key a aspects of the arts business as well as to meet visiting artists. Students can sing in our chorus, solo with our jazz ensemble, showcase their talent in a musical, prepare for a career in interior or graphic design or study mass media or speech communication.

VaPA has nine distinct programs, or majors, and one certificate program. Students can choose any of these:
