PHO 106 - Photography I
Introduction to the principles, techniques, and theories of the photographic process. The course examines the fundamentals of photographic equipment and digital procedures, including exposure, organization and enhancement of digital photographic images. Natural light assignments will be supported by lectures and demonstrations. Student supplies digital manually adjustable camera and external hard drive. Three laboratory/class hours. (SUNY-A).
Course Learning Outcomes
1.Use camera light meter to achieve optimum image exposure.
2.Describe the relationship between a camera's aperture and shutter speed settings.
3.Apply the camera's aperture and shutter speed settings to achieve a desired photographic result.
4.Identify compositional guidelines.
5.Assess how an audience is affected through photographic images.
6.Evaluate the tonal values of images as they relate to proper exposure.
7.Critique a photographic image.
