ATP 100 - Automotive Services

3 Credits

This hands-on course is designed for both consumers interested in repairing
their own cars and individuals interested in entry level skills that will help them gain employment in the automotive industry. Lectures, demonstrations and hands-on activities provide an overview of automotive systems.

Can be substituted for any one of the ATP 171-176 work experience courses.

Course Learning Outcomes
1.Demonstrate shop safety.
2.Demonstrate use of shop equipment.
3.Identify major automotive system components.
4.Utilize relevant automotive repair information.
5.Perform vehicle inspections.
6.Report vehicle inspection findings according to industry approved ethical standards.
7.Perform basic maintenance procedures.
8.Perform basic repair procedures.
9.Perform scan tool communication with on-board diagnostic systems.
10.Demonstrate use of computerized tire and wheel service equipment.
