CIN 222 - Topics in Cinema and Screen Studies

3 Credits

This course will vary each time it is offered. Examples of topics that may be taught are the examination of the independent film movement, race and gender in movies and television, international cinema, criticism of movies and television, delivery systems for the moving image, the documentary, film noir, and the movie star.

Prerequisite: CIN 120 or permission of instructor.

Course Learning Outcomes
1. Demonstrate the acquisition of knowledge of cinema and screen studies topics that are new to them or in greater depth than exposed to in previous courses.
2. Explain, both orally and in written form, the significance of cinema and screen topics to their degree program.
3. Analyze issues in cinema and screen studies.
4. Develop solutions to issues and problems in cinema and screen studies.
5. Write a final research paper to serve as a capstone to their degree studies.
