HMN 222 - Seminar: Enduring Questions in Humanities

This capstone seminar focuses on issues of significance in the human condition. Thematic in scope, the interdisciplinary course explores aesthetics and thought in art, music, literature, drama, film, philosophy, television, dance, and other humanistic efforts. This course will vary in content each semester.

Prerequisite(s): ENG 101 with a C or higher or ENG 200 with a C or higher.

Course Learning Outcomes
1. Identify the differences among various genres of literature.
2. Explain the differences among various genres of literature.
3. Identify select musical compositions or works of art.
4. Analyze different works of artistic endeavor, such as music, literature, drama, film, dance, or other forms of human creativity
5. Explain the connections between the arts and life experience.
6. Compose significant projects (multi-modal) using works of artistic endeavor as a primary source.
7. Apply the appropriate formal conventions when writing about works of artistic endeavor.
