|Penfield Resident Kimberley Collins Honored with SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Professional Service (07/05/2013)
ROCHESTER, N.Y. –July 3, 2013- Penfield resident Kimberley Collins, assistant vice president, Academic Services at Monroe Community College, is a recipient of the State University of New York (SUNY) Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Professional Service.
Collins began her MCC career in 2002 as assistant to the vice president for academic services. She has also served as interim vice president and acting dean of interdisciplinary programs at MCC and was associate director in the Center for Academic Support at the University of Rochester. In 2008, in recognition of her achievements and accomplishments, she was appointed to her current position.
According to MCC President Anne M. Kress, “I am impressed with Ms. Collins’s unflagging commitment to MCC’s student-centered mission. She is a key team player, willing to take on a wide variety of tasks according to the needs of the college and consistently completes them successfully with intelligence, grace, and good humor.”
Collins is a board member of the Rochester Education Foundation and the Greater Rochester Summer Learning Association. She also served as a medic for the Penfield Emergency Ambulance from 2001 to 2010.
SUNY awards this distinction to university professional staff members who have demonstrated outstanding performance both within and beyond their job description.
