|Simple Acts Create Better College Community (11/25/2013)
Helping make MCC a better place is a strong part of the MCC culture.
For example, within the past year, Phi Theta Kappa honor society members have collected more than 150 food items to ensure disadvantaged MCC students don’t go hungry. They also assisted in the retention of more than a dozen MCC students by providing individual tutoring in English.
Last year, with the help of two faculty members, nearly 40 students in the Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning/Refrigeration program removed, reassembled and reinstalled a quarter-century-old walk-in refrigerator/freezer unit from the Biology Department for use as a teaching tool.
MCC is home to more than 50 student clubs and organizations, many of which engage in service projects throughout the year. To find out how you can become involved, contact:
