MCC Offers 40 New Courses to Meet Area Workforce Needs (08/19/2013)

In response to local workforce demands, Monroe Community College has developed about 40 new noncredit courses that will be offered beginning this fall — in subjects ranging from presentation skills and information systems security to supervisory training — to prepare individuals for career advancement and for job opportunities currently available in the Rochester region.

One of the offerings is designed for mid- to high-ranking managers and executives who seek coaching and strategies on new and different ways to lead effectively.

Several courses prepare participants for certification exams that lead to industry-recognized credentials. They include the Community Interpreter, a nationally recognized 40-hour course in becoming a medical interpreter in health care, education, and human and social services settings.
