Description
The Health Studies program prepares students for transfer to four-year colleges and universities offering health-related degrees. The Health Studies program has three different tracks from which students may choose. Students who are interested in preparing to transfer to a bachelor’s degree in nursing or select clinical careers could utilize the Clinical Track. Students who are interested in careers in community health, healthcare studies, health science, health education (school or community), substance abuse counseling, social work or public health could take the Community Health Track to prepare for transfer into a bachelors degree program. Students who would like to pursue transfer for Healthcare Administration can complete the Healthcare Administration Track.

The Health Studies program includes courses in liberal arts, biology, psychology, social science, humanities and mathematics. The core program requirements include introductory health courses such as foundations in personal health and wellness, and other health courses tailored to the needs of the career path chosen. Students should consult regularly with their program advisor to make certain that their course selections meet the requirements of the four-year college and major to which they plan to transfer.
