Panelists to Examine Race Relations, Promote Value of Inclusion
at MCC Event

WHAT: Four panelists, including Rochester Police Chief James Sheppard, will discuss race relations in America in the aftermath of the Trayvon Martin case as part of Monroe Community College’s Dialogues on Diversity program. Joining Sheppard in the discussion, “What’s in a Hoodie?”, will be the Rev. Lawrence Hargrave, pastor of outreach ministries at Asbury First United Methodist Church in Rochester; Natasha Christensen, MCC sociology instructor; and Jonathan Iuzzini, coordinator of MCC’s Teaching and Creativity Center. Karen Morris, MCC distinguished professor of business administration and a Brighton town justice, will serve as moderator.

WHERE: Warshof Conference Center, R. Thomas Flynn Campus Center on MCC’s Brighton Campus, 1000 E. Henrietta Road

WHEN: 12:30 to 1:45 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 26; parking available in Lot P with a pass provided by MCC’s Marketing and Community Relations Department
