CASE Recognizes MCC Foundation Leaders (01/28/2013)

Allen G. Casey (Rochester) and Diane L. Shoger (Pittsford) were recognized by CASE, the Council for Advancement and Support of Education, for their leadership of the Monroe Community College Foundation. The achievement awards will be presented at the CASE District II conference on March 4 in Pittsburgh, Pa.

Casey is a founder and president of M/E Engineering, P.C. He began his support of the MCC Foundation in 1991, and currently serves on the prestigious Foundation Council. He will receive CASE District II’s Robert L. Payton Award for Voluntary Service for his leadership, volunteerism and philanthropy to support the success of MCC and its students. The award also recognizes Casey’s support of the Rochester City School District and Rochester Institute of Technology.

Shoger joined the MCC Foundation in 1999 and was appointed its executive director in 2008. She will receive CASE District II’s Professional of the Year Award for her exceptional work and innovative leadership that drive the success of the MCC Foundation. The award also recognizes her volunteer service to the community and advocacy on regional and national levels to promote the importance of private philanthropy to community colleges. In addition to her membership on the SUNY Chief Advancement Officers Executive Committee, Shoger helped launch CASE’s first national conference for community college advancement in 2012 and serves as vice chair for this year’s conference.

CASE District II is a regional organization of advancement professionals in the areas of alumni relations, communications and philanthropy. The largest of the eight CASE districts, District II helps members build stronger relationships with their alumni and donors, raise funds for campus projects, produce recruitment materials, market their institutions to prospective students, diversify the profession, and foster public support of education.

The Monroe Community College Foundation is a 501(c)(3), nonprofit corporation that seeks and secures private funds to supplement Monroe Community College’s traditional revenue sources. Through its ongoing efforts, it provides scholarship assistance, faculty enrichment programs, funding for educational equipment and seed money for innovative programs.
