Mark Basinski, Counselor
Mark Basinski joined the Counseling and Advising Center at MCC in 2003. His primary responsibilities include personal counseling, career counseling, academic advisement and teaching Career Development (CDL 100) classes. He also provides academic and personal growth related workshops on a number of topics including enhancing study skills (note taking, test anxiety, time management), and Returning Adult Career Development. His training and experience includes issues relating to stress management, grief and loss, self-esteem, interpersonal relationships, sexual identity, and depression and anxiety related issues. Other areas of interest include motivational theories, student-athlete success, impact of family crisis on student performance, and working with non-traditional students. In addition to being a Nationally Certified Counselor he holds a B.A. degree in English from the SUNY at Buffalo and a M.S. Ed. Degree in Counseling from the SUNY College at Brockport.
