I was born in Puerto Rico and raised in Brooklyn, NY. I received a Bachelor of Arts degree from University of Binghamton and a Master of Arts degree from San Diego State University. I am married and have three children, ages 11, 9 and 2.
I have been a member of the department since 1999. I have taught a variety of courses including Introduction to Sociology, Perspectives of Global Interdependence, Race and Ethnicity and Sociology of Latin America. I am currently chair of the department Planning Committee, and am a member of the Retention, Tenure and Promotion Committee. My interests lie in the areas of globalization and international/global education, race theory, and transnational residential segregation. I am currently a PhD candidate in the American Studies program at University at Buffalo. |
