Refund & Refund Methods

You can select how to receive refunds from MCC, whether due to out-of-pocket payments, or from excess financial aid. Choose from eRefund (direct deposit) or paper checks.

Note: If you do not select a refund method, you will automatically receive a paper check for any refunds issued to you, so keep your address up to date.

WHEN ARE REFUNDS ISSUED

Financial Aid refunds are typically available in October for Fall semester, and March for Spring semester, after you go through the normal attendance verification process.  If you are taking any late start or varied length classes, this may delay refund processing, or your overall refund may be broken into multiple payments.

If you pay your bill out of pocket and drop yourself from classes, please let us know so we can process your refund sooner.  You will be refunded an amount in accordance with the Tuition Refund Schedule.  If you pay online with a credit card, your card will typically be refunded instead of getting a paper check or direct deposit.

What Are My Options

Paper Checks

Make sure you keep your address up to date to prevent delays in receiving your funds, or from checks possibly being stolen.

eRefund

  • What is eRefund?
eRefund is a way to have refunds deposited directly into your checking or savings account instead of waiting for a paper check in the mail.  A prepaid debit card that includes banking information can also be used.

  • Why enroll in eRefund?
    • Convenience
You’ll get an email as soon as your refund has been processed, and you will have access to funds sooner!  Funds are available in 2 to 3 business days (varies by bank) instead of up to 10 days for a paper check to arrive in the mail.
    • Security
Direct deposit eliminates the possibility that your check will be lost in the mail or stolen.  And you won’t have your check returned to us as “undeliverable” if there’s a problem with your address.
    • Options
Choose to have refunds deposited directly into a checking or savings account, belonging to you or your parents (or anyone, really!). Prepaid debit cards with banking information can also be used.
