Inauguration Events
The Board of Trustees requests the honor of your presence at the Inauguration of Anne M. Kress as the fifth President of Monroe Community College, Rochester, New York.
The ceremony will take place on Saturday, the tenth of April, Two thousand and ten, at two o’clock in the afternoon. The location will be the Campus Gymnasium of the Samuel J. Stabins Physical Education Complex (Building 10) on the MCC Brighton Campus.

The Kress Inauguration Ride/Walk/Run
Location: Brighton Campus
Celebrate Dr. Kress's Inauguration with a 15-mile bike ride or a 5K walk/run to benefit the Snowflake Scholarship Fund. This scholarship is awarded to MCC students who demonstrate unmet financial need, maintain a 3.0 or better GPA, and complete 15 hours of community service each semester.
The Run/Walk course is 3.1 miles long, around the Brighton Campus loop. In the case of inclement weather, the Run/Walk will take place indoors. The Ride course consists of a 15-mile tour of the four main MCC campuses and locations: Brighton, Damon City, Applied Technologies Center, and the Public Training Safety Facility. 99 people participated to raise $1,147 for the Snowflake Scholarship Fund.

The Book and a Blanket Drive Location: the Inauguration Ceremony
In honor of President Kress's inauguration and her commitment to children and education, we will be collecting children's books and blankets to be donated to the Rochester Education Foundation's Book and a Blanket drive. Literacy Project: EDU 150 (Performance and Presentation Skills for Teachers)
This semester EDU students in Tracy Wyant’s EDU 150 (Performance and Presentation Skills for Teachers) classes are embarking on an exciting journey with second grade students at the World of Inquiry School in the Rochester City School District. MCC students will be collaborating with the second graders to co-author children’s books and create performances that address curriculum standards. This service learning project will culminate in a celebration of literacy at an Author’s Tea on April 7 & 8, 2010, held at the World of Inquiry School, where MCC students and second graders will share their creations with kindergarten classes, their families, and community.
