Here’s everything you ever wanted to know about scholarships at MCC.
MCC Scholarships
A variety of scholarships are available to students:
- Academic – departmental scholarships for students enrolled in a wide range of academic majors from Nursing to Applied Technology to Criminal Justice to Mathematics - and many more!
- Need – demonstrated financial need, based off the results of FAFSA/TAP, for students who might need help closing the gap to afford tuition, fees, & books.
- Circumstances – assistance to students facing unique circumstances like overcoming obstacles to pursue their education, being a single parent, and/or the ways in which they might contribute to the diversity of our campus.
There are three types of scholarships:
- Institutional – funded through Monroe Community College
- Private – funded through private businesses, civic organizations, labor unions, and other groups
- Governmental – offered by federal and state governmental agencies
Scholarships Online
Scholarships Online is a one-stop platform for all Monroe Community College scholarships. Students can access Scholarships Online once they are accepted to Monroe Community College and have an M Number and MCC-issued email address (e.g., username@student.monroecc.edu). In order to search and apply for scholarships, students will be asked to set up their profile using their MCC credentials.
Student Sign In
- New students – You must have an MCC email address to access MCC Scholarships Online. Newly admitted students will be mailed their MCC email address and instructions for activating their account.
- Current students – Use your MCC email address and password.
Note: If you've been admitted and have not received your MCC email or have misplaced it, or are having trouble accessing the system, please contact the Help Desk at (585) 292-8324.
Deadlines
- Information on each scholarship opportunity, including deadlines, will be located on the Scholarship Universe website.
- Be sure to check back here soon for upcoming scholarship dates and deadlines for current/continuing students!
Note: If you are selected as a scholarship recipient, you will receive an email notification to your MCC student email address.
Private scholarships
Many businesses, civic organizations, and other groups offer scholarships. You’ll need to research and apply for them on your own, but it’s well worth your effort. Here are some places to look into for scholarship opportunities:
- Places of employment (of parents and/or student)
- Local libraries
- MCC’s Leroy V. Good and Downtown Campus Libraries
- MCC Career Center Library
- High schools
- Online
