 I am pleased to announce that the Monroe Community College Board of Trustees has selected Dr. Anne M. Kress as the college's fifth president. Dr. Kress will begin her MCC presidency on Monday, July 6.
Dr. Kress brings to MCC over 20 years of experience in higher education, the last four years as Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs at Santa Fe College in Gainesville, FL. As the Board compared her experience, skills and qualities to the qualifications we delineated at the beginning of our search, it quickly became clear that she is extraordinarily well-qualified to lead MCC.
I would like to express my sincere appreciation to all members of the college community, in particular to members of the search committees, for participating so fully and with such commitment in the search process. Your contributions to the quality of this institution have never been more evident. I commend your efforts in ensuring that MCC remain one of the top community colleges in the nation and I am confident that Dr. Kress will assist us in achieving ever greater heights in serving our students and our community.
