Brighton Campus Forum
06:00 pm - 07:30 pm

MCC’s The Democracy Commitment has received a NY Council for the Humanities grant to host discussions based on Danielle Allen’s book, Talking To Strangers.  The book is on reserve at both the Brighton and Damon libraries (with valid MCC ID), as well as for purchase at both the Brighton and Damon book stores.  Allen introduces a notion of ‘political friendships, which she contends can help “overcome the fossilized distrust among us” as Americans. Further information about the book can be found here: http://press.uchicago.edu/ucp/books/book/chicago/T/bo3636037.html

The date, time, location, and faciliator of the first of 4 discussions is as follows:

03/21 6:00 to 7:30 p.m., Professor Leuzzi (ENG/PHIL), chapters 1-4, Brighton Campus Forum

If you have questions, please reach out to The Democracy Commitment co-coordinators, Dr. Joseph Scanlon (jscanlon1@monroecc.edu <mailto:jscanlon1@monroecc.edu> ) or Professor Dina Giovanelli (dgiovanelli@monroecc.edu <mailto:dgiovanelli@monroecc.edu> ).  These discussions are free, open to the public, and will provide light refreshments.  Reservations are not required.
