Statewide Mathematics Contest

If you are enrolled at MCC this semester either full-time or part-time, and have not taken any mathematics courses above the level offered at MCC, please consider representing MCC in this year's statewide contest for two-year college students. It is an opportunity for personal and school recognition. Prizes are awarded for top scorers in the state. Also, the top scorer from MCC will be recognized at the MCC Awards Banquet in May.

Questions are a mix of multiple choice and open-ended, and can be solved using mathematics at the pre-calculus level. It's fun and only takes an hour of your time! Students who take the NYSMATYC contest are given extra consideration when applying for NYSMATYC scholarships.

NYSMATYC Contest (New York State Mathematics Association of Two-Year Colleges):

Come to room 8-300 on Wednesday, March 14 from 11:55 a.m. - 12:55 p.m. to participate in the contest.

Note: calculators are not allowed on the NYSMATYC exam
