MCC Hosts Fulbright Visiting Scientist
Last week, in cooperation with the Office of Global Education and
International Studies (GEIS), MCC hosted Fulbright scholar Dr. M. Muruganandam,
Senior Scientist in Fisheries and Aquaculture at the ICAR-Indian Institute of
Soil and Water Conservation (ICAR-IISWC) in Dehra Dun, India. Dr. Muruandagam
has just completed his work through Fulbright in the U.S. with the USGS Coop.
Fish and Wildlife Research Unit at South Dakota State University.
During his visit to MCC, Dr. Muruandagam lectured in Professor Jennifer
Markham's BIO 116 Intro to Environmental Science class (see image) on the
topic, "Impacts of Culture and Traditions on Natural Resources Management."
Moreover, Dr. Murandagam met with our colleagues Professor Jon Little, GIST
Fulbright Specialist, and Robert King, Senior Specialist, Agriculture and Life
Sciences Institute, and at College Hour, Dr. Muruandagam presented "On the
Sustainability Issues in Agriculture" to Biology faculty and the Biology
Club.
MCC is proud and excited to be one of the few community colleges nation-wide
to have Fulbrighters among our faculty, and to host international visiting
Fulbright scholars, in providing students with global education.
