Wednesday, October 17th

Learn more about community resources and connect with representatives from The Legal Aid Society of Rochester, RESOLVE of Greater Rochester, and Willow Domestic Violence Center. Tables will be setup in the Terrace outside the Cafeteria on the Brighton Campus from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

Thursday, October 18th

  • Consider wearing purple today. Be an ally and raise awareness about domestic violence as part of the statewide #NYGoesPurple4DV campaign. If someone asks you why you are wearing purple, here are some talking points.

  • Another chance to connect with community resources and meet representatives from RESOLVE of Greater Rochester, RESTORE Sexual Assault Services, and Highland Family Planning. Tables will be setup in the Terrace outside the Cafeteria on the Brighton Campus between 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

  • Workshop: Obtaining Orders of Protection in Family Court
PRISM Multicultural Center from 12:30 p.m. - 1:30 p.m. (space is limited, so arrive early!)

What is an order of protection? What does it do? How do I file for one? Join Hannah Sonner, Court Advocacy Program Coordinator - Willow Domestic Violence Center, and Jamilah Oquendo, Senior Probation Officer - Domestic Violence Intervention Unit - Monroe County Department of Probation-Community Corrections and learn more about the process for obtaining orders of protection in Family Court.
