Dr. Peter Galie to speak on the upcoming NYS constitutional convention vote

Are you curious about the upcoming NYS constitutional convention vote? The Department of Anthropology, History, Political Science, and Sociology, along with The Politicos and The Democracy Commitment at MCC, will be hosting Dr. Peter Galie on October 26th, from 1230pm-150pm, in Warshof Conference Center Monroe B, to discuss this important ballot issue.

Dr. Galie, Professor Emeritus of Political Science, has authored or edited multiple publications on NYS government, including Ordered Liberty: A Constitutional History of New York (1996), and The New York State Constitution: A Commentary (2012). Dr. Galie's talk, titled "What You Need to Know About the New York State Constitution," will focus on addressing why the vote is on the ballot, the key issues at stake, and what follows in the event the convention is approved by voters. There will be a question and answer session following Dr. Galie's talk.
