"College tuition sticker shock: How to afford it or make a better choice"

Democrat and Chronicle reporter Mary Chao highlighted MCC transfer and 2+2 programs in her article "College tuition sticker shock: How to afford to make a better choice." Dr. Kress is quoted within the article:

Beginning at a place like Monroe Community College and then transferring is a way to boost college affordability -- both because of the lower tuition cost and because many students save on housing costs by living at home, said Anne Kress, president of Monroe Community College. Over 70 percent of MCC students begin there with the intent to transfer to complete a four-year degree, Kress added.

The article published online on September 23.
