"Suicide Prevention Symposium: Mental Health in the Changing Higher Education Landscape," December 1-10, 2020

Dear Colleagues,

I hope this message finds you well. Please see the announcement of an upcoming suicide prevention symposium.

The New York State College Health Association (NYSCHA) is partnering with SUNY and the NYS Office of Mental Health to offer the virtual "Suicide Prevention Symposium: Mental Health in the Changing Higher Education Landscape" from December 1-10, 2020 at no cost for All SUNY students, faculty, and staff.

The goal of the Symposium is to enhance knowledge and skills regarding suicide prevention and mental health for the college population. By bringing college health and student affairs professionals, faculty, and students from throughout New York State together in this collaborative effort, we will have the opportunity to address the factors that put students at higher risk of suicide as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and to discuss suicide prevention strategies that colleges and universities can take to enhance the well-being of college students.

CE Credits: CME, CHES, MCHES, and PsyCE credits will be offered for the presentations. Look for CE credits under the presenter name for the presentations on the full calendar.

To Register: Go to the Annual Meeting page on the NYSCHA website. Choose the category that fits for you. The link for that category will take you to the online registration site. Everyone planning to attend sessions must complete the online registration process.
