Article on Thomas Grasso's Advocacy for Erie Canal Preservation and Development Notes MCC Connection

Rochester Democrat and Chronicle Reporter Justin Murphy captured the impact of MCC Professor Emeritus Thomas Grasso’s inspiring work in his story Thomas Grasso, advocate of Erie Canal preservation and development, dies at 82. The article published on June 29.

Professor Emeritus Grasso died on June 6 (obituary).

Our thanks to Professor Michael Boester (Chemistry and Geosciences) for participating in an interview in support of the article. According to Professor Boester, " It's rare to have such a large geosciences department at the community college level. ... Everyone knows if it hadn’t been for Tom Grasso, none of this would be possible."

In addition to appearing in the Democrat and Chronicle, the story appeared in The Daily Messenger Online, Press & Sun Bulletin, Ithaca Journal Online and other digital publications.
