Location Changes to Board of Trustee Meeting Documents

The Board of Trustees agendas, supporting documentation and minutes have long been available on MCC's web site. In order to bring www.monroecc.edu into compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, we are making some adjustments in how and where this information lives; rest assured, however, that all of it will still be accessible to you.

Let me back up a bit in order to explain.

As you may know, under an agreement with the U.S. Office of Civil Rights, MCC is working to make its web site accessible to all, regardless of disability.

We have made certain adjustments to meet the terms of the agreement--like changing colors to improve contrast and tagging content to help screen reading technology. Currently, web liaisons are working on PDFs--making them accessible to screen readers or deleting them. For older, little-accessed or non-critical content in PDFs, the best answer often is to simply remove them from www.monroecc.edu.

MCC Board of Trustees meeting agendas, supporting documentation and minutes have been available on https://www.monroecc.edu/depts/trustees/meetings/ in PDF format for some time now. In an effort to bring these pages into compliance with ADA, we are making the following changes:

  • all meeting minutes from 2018 forward have been made ADA compliant and remain on the website;
  • all meeting agendas from January 2018 forward will be made ADA compliant and remain on the website. These meeting agendas include all resolutions and Board of Trustees information items;
  • supporting documentation* associated with the agenda is difficult to make ADA compliant because of the formatting of the information (charts, images, etc.) and so will be removed from the web site. Employees will be able to access this information via the M drive (...Shared/Board of Trustees/Agenda Supporting Documentation) and anyone can request it via the College's Records Access Officer; and
  • minutes and agendas from meetings prior to January 2018 are accessed infrequently and therefore have been removed from the web site. Both are available from the College's Records Access Officer.

In sum, some information has moved, but all information remains accessible to employees and the community.

*Generally includes operating fund financial reports, departmental purchases, capital improvement projects report, grants received report, other documents supporting resolutions under consideration, and information items such as strategic planning dashboards, personnel actions, biographies of new employees, and employees' presentations, publications, accolades and accomplishments.
