Post Season Results


Men's Basketball

Sunday, March 6th the men's basketball team defeated Erie C.C. (83-81) in the finals of the Region III Division II Men's Basketball Championship. Head Coach, Jerry Burns was named Region III Coach of the Year. MCC (29-3) will play the Community College of Beaver County in the District II Championship game Saturday, March 12th at 1:00 pm. The winner will advance to the NJCAA National Tournament hosted by Danville Community College.

Women's Basketball

Sunday, March 6th the Lady Tribunes (28-3) defeated thruway rival Genesee C.C. (66-46) in the Region III Division II Women's Basketball Championship. Sophomore Renee Taylor was the tournament MVP . MCC had advanced to the NJCAA Division II National Tournament hosted by Phoenix College March 16-19, 2005.

Men's Hockey

The Tribunes traveled to SUNY Morrisville this past weekend to compete in the NJCAA National Touranment. As the third seed MCC played the sixth seed Hudson Valley C.C. in the first round. The Tribunes defeated Hudson Valley C.C. 6-1. MCC advanced to the semi finals and played rival MSU-Bottineau but fell short 2-3. Monroe finished up the season 15-8-3.

Swimming and Diving

This past weekend the women's swim team finished up 4th at the NJCAA National Swimming and Diving Championships hosted by Indian River Community College. Six of the women placed fourth or higher in their individual events.

The men's team finished up 2nd at nationals. This is the second time in the schools history that the men's team finished 3rd. Mateusz Fruez broke a school record (4:48.13) in the 500 Yard Free.
