I regret to inform you that Sandra Schmidt (formerly Weekes), retiree from the Controller’s office, passed away Feb. 18 in Venice, FL.
Sandy left her job as secretary in the Roth High School Guidance Office in 1987 to join MCC. She served MCC for 11 years until her retirement in 1998.
Sandy is survived by her husband, Raymond Schmidt; daughter Stephanie Allan; son John Weeks; step-son Christopher Schmidt; step-daughter Erin Schmidt of Rochester; sister Martha Glaser; five grandchildren; and three cousins.
A graveside service will be held at a later time to be announced. In lieu of flowers, donations in Sandy’s name may be made to Tidewell Hospice, 220 Wexford Blvd., Venice, FL 34293.
